Otto Meier


Otto Meier was born in Dortmund, Germany in 1903.
From 1923 - 1924 he studied in Italy, and one year later he started a course in Dortmund in the evenings for architect and sculptors.
In 1926 he started for himself as a potter in Worpswede and the two years following he joined a potters group in Bremen.
In 1988 he joined the famous "Gruppe 83". (A group of famous German potters). His work was or still is shown in many museums through Germany, like the Keramion in Frechen, Hetjens-Museum in Düsseldorf, Focke Museum in Bremen, Schloss Strünkede in Oldenburg and many more.
Otto Meier died in 1996.
