Loré, Beesel, the Netherlands (1954-1981)
The company was founded by Louis Thijssen and René Peeters (the first two letters of their first names form LoRé).
They both used to work for St. Joris, also in Beesel.
I am an avid collector of these funky shaped Loré vases, which are designed by Math Camps (Mathieu). They all have numbers starting with the letter "B". I thought the "B" referred to Beesel, where the company was located, but people who had worked in the factory told me it was a code for a form or glaze.
Someone else (Peter Peeters) told me a while ago that all Loré vases that start with the letter 'B' are designed by Mathieu Camps between 1967 - 1981.
Although I would like to show the world what beautiful designs where made by Mathieu Camps, I as a true collector for these vases want to thank people like Mark Hill, Werner & Cynthia, Pauline, Peter Peeters, Marc de Winkel, John van den Berk, Richard Holland and all the people I forgot ( hopefully not too many... ;-) ) who made my collection grow to the standard it is now, or promote Loré to the world like Mark Hill did in the "Miller's Collectables 2012 - 2013 on page 94!
It feels double when you collect something like I do for Loré and publish information about it.
There is always a change that prices will increase when more information is around and there for it is harder for myself to expand the collection. ( Thanks again to all people who I named above, who still help me expand...!! )
On the other hand it feels great to share this information, and share the joy for this pottery.
Of course all my Loré vases are NOT For Sale !! ( if you have any further information that you want to share or Loré pottery for sale....please send me an email ! )
